Dickies Arena was driven by several strategic goals that shaped its design and functionality – to elevate Fort Worth's entertainment offerings; attract top-tier concerts, family shows, and sporting events; and to enhance the cultural life of the city. Located near the historic Will Rogers Coliseum, the new area expands the city’s cultural district while complementing existing landmarks. When the new world-class facility opened in 2019, it offered state-of-the-art amenities and infrastructure to rival the best venues in the country, a 14,000 seat event space that and includes premium suites, an underground event space, and a three-acre outdoor plaza, and a concert-hall-quality experience for all types of events never-before available in Fort Worth.
As Owner’s Representative and Project Manager for Dickies Arena, The Projects Group oversaw every phase of the project’s delivery. We managed the complex public-private partnership, ensuring alignment between city stakeholders and private investors, and coordinated the work of multiple design and construction teams. Our role involved navigating challenges inherent in such a large-scale venue, including managing stringent budget and schedule constraints, integrating cutting-edge technology and world-class acoustical design, and upholding the high design and construction standards required for the arena’s LEED Silver certification.
