Texas Ballet Theater (TBT), the premier ballet company serving both Fort Worth and Dallas, is undertaking a major transformation of its Fort Worth headquarters to support the growth of its professional company, school, and community programs. Originally built in the 1970s, the facility at 1500 Mall Circle will be fully renovated and expanded to create a state-of-the-art campus for training, rehearsal, and small-scale performance. The project responds to both aging infrastructure and increasing demand for space—building on TBT’s longstanding presence in North Texas and its mission to make ballet more accessible and inclusive.
The reimagined 65,000 SF facility will feature seven rehearsal studios, dedicated spaces for Pilates and physical therapy, upgraded wardrobe and production areas, expanded office and support spaces, and a flexible 240-seat performance venue within the main dance lab. Designed by AHMM, the project also includes enhanced front-of-house areas, a new box office, lounge, parent waiting areas, and campus-wide site improvements to support daily operations and events. This renovation will allow TBT to centralize its programs under one roof—accommodating company rehearsals, school instruction, community classes, and adaptive dance in a purpose-built environment that reflects the company’s artistic excellence and civic commitment.
