Christopher Yu
Senior Project Manager
Christopher Yu is a seasoned Senior Project Manager with more than 13 years of professional experience spanning architectural design and construction management across cultural, civic, commercial, and international projects. Trained as an architect, Christopher brings a strong design sensibility and technical rigor to his work, enabling him to bridge vision and execution while advocating for solutions that balance performance, elegance, and long-term value. His background allows him to operate seamlessly between design teams, technical consultants, and owners, translating complex ideas into clear, actionable outcomes.
Prior to joining The Projects Group, Christopher worked at several internationally recognized architecture firms, most notably as part of the design and construction team at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM). His experience includes high-profile projects ranging from large-scale transportation hubs and mixed-use developments to skyscrapers and urban plazas, including a $5 billion Manhattan development. Across these projects, Christopher was involved throughout the full project lifecycle—from schematic design and design development through construction documentation and construction administration—contributing to complex, multi-stakeholder projects in diverse global contexts.
At The Projects Group, Christopher manages a portfolio of major cultural and civic initiatives, including the Dallas Museum of Art Expansion, Abilene Heritage Square, and the relocation of the General Commission of Archives and History from New Jersey to Dallas. In this role, he provides day-to-day leadership and coordination, working closely with clients, consultants, and contractors to maintain alignment across scope, schedule, budget, and design intent. His architectural training enables him to engage deeply with design teams while maintaining a practical, owner-focused approach to project delivery.
Christopher is a firm believer that every project—regardless of constraints—has the potential to achieve high performance and refined design. He is particularly passionate about projects that enhance communities and enrich the lives of those who experience them, a value reflected in his work on museums, public spaces, and civic institutions. Known for his thoughtful, collaborative approach and attention to detail, Christopher thrives in roles that require clarity, coordination, and creative problem-solving in support of successful project outcomes.
